Budds Beach is a small suburb, quite like that of a small beachside town. The suburb is bordered by the Nerang River on one side and the Gold Coast Highway on the other and is just far enough away from the lights of Surfers Paradise to keep things relaxed.
The perfect place for young families, twenty somethings and retirees. Walking down the riverside street locals stop and chat and enjoy the sunshine. The local cafe is Bumbles and it is a great place to catch up with friends.
There are no schools actually located in the suburb but across the river in Southport there are many schools to choose from. It’s also not too far to travel to Surfers or Broadbeach schools.
Budds Beach offers locals a relaxed pace and where everyone can go at their own speed. There is a family park that leads into a small golden beach with a great playground for kids. From here you can wade into the river, take your surf ski for a paddle or moor your boat while you enjoy the beach. There’s a boat ramp on River Drive for your boat or jet ski. You could try your luck at fishing from the modern jetty or stroll along the quiet beach and take it all in.
There is a small cafe – Bumbles – which has a great breakfast and a pleasant view. Or bring your own lunch and sit at one of the picnic tables, or use the free barbeque facilities.
